I completed my medical training at the University
of Gujarat, Ahmedabad, India in 1970. After working in India for
four years, I took up my first post in the United Kingdom in the
Casualty Orthopaedics Department at Kilmarnock Infirmary, Scotland.
Between 1975 - 1976, I worked as a Senior House Officer in the
Urology/Gynaecology department at Ballockmyle Hospital also based
in Ayrshire , Scotland.
In 1976 I moved to Royal Preston Infirmary as Senior
House Officer in the Ophthalmology department where I worked until
I began my General Practice training based at Roslea Surgery,
Bamber Bridge, Preston.
In 1980, I became a G.P. Principal at Kingsfold
Medical Centre where I have spent many happy years since.
In addition to my day-to-day activities as a General
Practitioner, I have a special interest in Ophthalmology and taking
care of the elderly. I have been working as a Clinical Assistant
to a leading Ophthalmic Surgeon based at Chorley NHS Trust two
afternoons each week, since 1985.
As a form of relaxation I enjoy music and
cooking traditional Indian cuisine.
