Roles & Responsibilities:
I completed my medical training at the University of Gujarat, Ahmedabad, India in 1970. After working in India for four years, I took up my first post in the United Kingdom in the Casualty Orthopaedics Department at Kilmarnock Infirmary, Scotland. Between 1975 - 1976, I worked as a Senior House Officer in the Urology/Gynaecology department at Ballockmyle Hospital also based in Ayrshire , Scotland.
In 1976 I moved to Royal Preston Infirmary as Senior House Officer in the Ophthalmology department where I worked until I began my General Practice training based at Roslea Surgery, Bamber Bridge, Preston.
In 1980, I became a G.P. Principal at Kingsfold Medical Centre where I have spent many happy years since.
In addition to my day-to-day activities as a General Practitioner, I have
a special interest in Ophthalmology and taking care of the elderly.
As a form of relaxation I enjoy music and cooking traditional Indian cuisine.

Sangeeta Chikhalikar - Practice Manager & Business Partner
Roles and Responsibilities:
As Practice Manager, I work full time within the practice, and am responsible for the smooth running and organisation of the day to day activity. There are also many other aspects of the job which I manage on a regular basis, these include :-
• Staff training and Development
• Accountancy and PAYE
• Personnel/Health & Safety
• Complaints Manager
• Primary Health Care Team Co-ordinator
• Clinical Governance Practice Representative
My office door is always open to both staff and patients alike and I welcome comments, which can be acted upon to improve patient care.
Jane Armer - Assistant Practice Manager

I joined the team at Kingsfold Medical Centre in January 2004 as a Receptionist.
In September 2008 I took on the new role of Medicine Co-Ordinator for the practice,
and in November 2009 I was promoted to Assistant Practice Manager. I enjoy the
varied duties these roles involve and the daily challenges they present. In my
previous employment I worked for the NHS Wheelchair Service which was then based
at Royal Preston Hospital.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Dealing with patients telephone calls/face to face enquiries
• Maintaining and updating patient computer records
• Monitoring and auditing prescribing processes
• Liaising between patient, pharmacy, hospital and/or GP for medication
related queries
• Assisting the Practice Manager in all duties to ensure the smooth running
of the Practice, and quality service to patients

I have worked at Kingsfold Medical Centre since September 1990. I am the only full time employee, with the exception of the Practice Manager. My current role is that of Secretary and part time computer operator.
Roles and Responsibilities:
My time is divided between the general running of Reception and computer work which includes:-
• Typing all referral letters and imputing hospital letters onto the computerized patient records by scanning on a daily basis
• Registration links ensuring that patients records are updated on a daily basis.
• Shared responsibility for IOS Links
• Responsibility for maintenance and upgrading the computer system
• I share responsibility for day to day running of the surgery in the absence of the practice manager.
Edith Turner - Administration/Receptionist

Roles and Responsibilities:
I am the Senior Receptionist at Kingsfold and started working for the doctors in 1980. As a receptionist my main duties include answering the phone, making appointments and producing prescriptions. In addition to this work I take responsibility for :-
• The majority of induction training for newly appointed staff.
• Monitoring and maintaining the Baby Clinic Call/Recall forms.
• Completion of Childhood vaccination forms/schedules in order to ensure that Immunisation Targets are met.
• Maintaining and completion of relevant paperwork for the Ante-Natal clinic and Family Planning.
• Services.Maintaining and updating of I.O.S. Claims.
As a Senior Receptionist with nearly 20 years experience, I am always happy to share or help with any queries that individual staff members have about general practice procedures, and by helping this way, I try to ensure that our doctors working day remain as stress free as possible.

I joined the practice in April 1996 and work part-time as a receptionist. This involves a wide variety of administrative duties as well as trying to give a good standard of service to our patients generally. Although this type of work is very different from my original training as a teacher, I enjoy all aspects of the job and being part of the practice team.
